Steve Tripp (Flugel Horn)

Steve has quite literally handcuffed himself to the Flugel Horn.  We're looking for the keys at the moment, but until we can do something about that please enjoy the silky smooth sounds of the man we like to call .......... Mr Floogal

Solo Horn

Jeremy Topp

‘Jer’ hails from deepest darkest Hampshire and started banding at Michelmersh Silver with his dad, sister, two uncles, cousin and grandfather. After ‘a family meeting’ he left the band at the tender age of 14 and enjoyed spells with Downton Band and New Forest Vodafone Brass before settling with Test Valley Brass in Andover. After spending 5 successful years with TVB – helping it rise from 4th Section to Championship Section and winning a couple of National titles along the way – he was lured to Bristol by his now wife Kate, who used to play for the Band.

Jer joined Portishead in the summer of 2003 and laid down the firm foundations for what is undoubtedly the best sounding – and most attractive - section in the band (in his own words).

Lesley Lee

Lesley started playing at age 8 and joined Chard Concert Brass on baritone.  She then moved to her beloved tenor horn for CCB.

When she moved to Bristol in 1988 she played for the famous Bendix (Kingswood) band and progressed through the ranks to become their Solo horn. After a few breaks from playing to bring up her family, Lesley has returned full time to play with Portishead.

She also sings Alto in a choir and is a Graphic Designer by trade.
